From layout keys to final comp

Depth splits, holdouts, and multi-plane cheats we use when schedules demand 2D hero shots with 3D camera language.

Layout exports include field guides and parallax offsets so paint and comp share one spatial truth.

We prototype comp-heavy shots early with greyshade slap comps before ink investment spikes.

Holdouts are named per depth slice so roto and paint can split work without overwriting mattes. A simple spreadsheet maps Z-depth to folder prefixes.

Final comp reviews use side-by-side layout keys and graded beauty passes so everyone judges the same hero frame, not a compressed Slack preview.
